The Millions : We Came From A Free People: On Roxane Gay’s An Untamed State

The Millions : We Came From A Free People: On Roxane Gay’s An Untamed State.

The novel is a brutal depiction of a woman living between, in and after her abduction and gang-rape in her home country. It is in her to survive, but it takes a long time for the bleeding to stop so she cleans and bandages the wounds and attempts to survive the world that has betrayed her and the people who did rape her thinking that she “deserved” it. The novel is a narrative of identity-politics, class, societal details of what are the divides between rich and poverty-stricken.

I read the reviews and now that Roxanne Gay has published Bad Behaviour I thought it would  be good to just put this up.
